Flood Risk Assessment
Due to flooding concerns, more and more developments are now required to supply drainage proposals and Flood Risk assessments as part of the planning process. Renaissance offer an FRA service tailored to the requirements of any given development: from a single dwelling or extension to larger commercial projects.
The requirement of the assessment are dictated by Local Authority protocol or by the Environment Agency, for larger proposals. As such, each case is unique and subject to some interpretation depending on its location and scale. At Renaissance we not only supply an assessment in the required format, after researching the exact requirement, but are also astute at negotiating the level of assessment to minimise costs and work.
Recent examples include negotiations to minimise the requirement for on site engineering solutions to potential flooding; and removal of a requirement to supply an assessment altogether. Both cases resulted in savings of thousands of pounds to the client. Our charges are dependent on the nature of the project in hand and calculated at our very reasonable hourly rate. Quotations can be given on request with Small FRAs and drainage proposals starting at £300+VAT.
Asbestos Surveys
Where there is the risk or knowledge of asbestos within a building, Renaissance can arrange a Type I, II or III asbestos survey to identify and quantify the potential problem. We can then deliver the correct solutions, such as generation of an Asbestos Register, encapsulation and/or removal of the substance.
Environmental Insurance
Renaissance is not FSA regulated. It is, however, an independent consultancy with extremely strong ties to the environmental insurance broking and underwriting communities. This means that we understand environmental insurance, but are not tied to a single insurance broker. Should you be interested in environmental insurance, we can guide you to the best environmental brokers operating in the market at that time. We are so sure that the insurers will want to use our reports for their information requirements, that we will not charge you a penny for this service.
Renaissance is extremely efficient at providing environmental risk assessments for portfolios. We will ensure that an insurer has sufficient information to offer good insurance terms, but will keep the costs to a minimum. With experience of assessing portfolios of up to 6,500 properties, Renaissance staff can provide the full portfolio assessment and risk mitigation service.
Invasive and noxious weeds
The control and eradication of plants such as ragwort, Japanese knotweed and Giant Hogweed is often attempted by companies that have little botanical expertise. This impractical situation can now be corrected: Renaissance has a partnership with a specialist botanical management company who can systematically deal with any vegetative problems you may be experiencing using patented methods. The processes are safe, swift and sure. For example, Japanese knotweed can be completely eradicated in a single growing season using environmentally friendly spraying techniques, which can also address cross-boundary infestations and come with a £2,000,000 guarantee.

Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) Surveys
Through munitions dumping and failed detonations, there are a significant number of unexploded WWII bombs hidden underground in both urban and rural areas. We can arrange state of the art, geophysical detection surveys to search suspect areas for these devices. Where found, the best method to confirm and remove any UXO can be devised and implemented.
