Ecological Surveys

Whether to make the most of an existing habitat after redevelopment, or to quantify and solve the problems associated with protected species, Renaissance can ensure you receive the right service swiftly and cost-effectively. This subject is increasingly important and requires a tactful approach to satisfy planners and other parties in a timely fashion. The right supplier is crucial to the outcome of the assessment and to the cost and speed of delivery.

Tree Surveys

Tree surveys may be required for a variety of reasons including planning, subsidence assessment, tree preservation orders or safety. The assessment process is controlled by a British standard and can be a simple review for a domestic situation, through to a full woodland management method statement. We use only trusted providers to ensure cost-effective results.

Noise Surveys

Noise surveys take various forms depending on their purpose. Where development is planned, local authorities may ask for assurance that the ambient noise at the site will not make the development inappropriate. Conversely, noise at commercial and industrial premises must be monitored to ensure nuisance claims do not materialise from neighbours or other parties. The legislation surrounding this subject is difficult to interpret and assessment should be undertaken by experienced contractors. We can steer clients towards reliable practitioners depending on geographical location and the purpose of the assessment.

Asbestos Surveys

Where there is the risk or knowledge of asbestos within a building, Renaissance can arrange a Type I, II or III Asbestos Survey to identify and quantify the potential problem. We can then deliver the correct solutions, such as generation of an Asbestos Register, encapsulation and/or removal of the substance.

Environmental Insurance

Renaissance is not FSA regulated. It is, however, an independent consultancy with extremely strong links to the environmental insurance broking and underwriting communities. This means we understand environmental insurance, but are not tied to a single insurance broker. If you are interested, we can recommend the best environmental brokers operating in the market at that time. We are so sure the insurers will want to use our reports for their information requirements, that we will not charge you for this service.

With experience of assessing portfolios of up to 6,500 properties, Renaissance provides a full portfolio assessment and risk mitigation service. We will ensure the insurer has sufficient information to offer good insurance terms, but will keep the costs to a minimum.

Invasive and Noxious Weeds

The control and eradication of plants such as Ragwort, Japanese Knotweed and Giant Hogweed is often attempted by companies with little botanical expertise. Renaissance has a partnership with a specialist botanical management company which can systematically deal with any vegetative problems you may be experiencing using patented methods. The processes are safe and swift. For example, Japanese Knotweed can be completely eradicated in a single growing season using environmentally friendly spraying techniques, which can also address cross-boundary infestations and comes with a £2,000,000 guarantee.

Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) Surveys

Through munitions dumping and failed detonations, there are a significant number of unexploded WWII bombs hidden underground in both urban and rural areas. We can arrange state of the art, geophysical detection surveys to search suspect areas for these devices. Where found, the best method to confirm and remove any UXO can be devised and implemented.

Service Traces

Prior to intrusive work or development at a site it is critical to understand the positioning of the underground services such as telephone lines, gas and water pipes. We are able to supply a remote assessment of services through our data supplier which takes between 5 and 20 days, depending on the degree of urgency. As an alternative, where a more bespoke service is required a phtsical on-site service trace is available upon request. This can often be completed more promptly than the remote report and will highlight private as well as public services.
